Chocolate and Squids

Today Caleb and I were at the Natural History Museum and we were looking at fossils of giant acorns. I was talking to him about squirrels eating small acorns in our yard and Caleb said, "Mommy I don't eat acorns, I eat popcorns."

Then we were making a cake for a friend and the top of the cake had a big crack in it. Caleb looked really hard at the crack and said, "Mommy, is that a giant squid cake?" It really did look like a squid imprint but how in the world did he get from chocolate cake to giant squid? For Caleb just about everything can be related to food! It must be his learning language...food.
